Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday extended his support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for simultaneous elections.

Speaking to the newsmen over the matter Patnaik said, “Having elections throughout the year disturbs the working process for the people. Therefore, we support the Prime Minister’s appeal for simultaneous elections. This will serve the country well.”

Soon after Patnaik supported the PM’s appeal, the state ruling BJD clarified that its Puri MP Pinaki Mishra will attend the meeting of the Law Commission of India, which is slated to be held in New Delhi on July 7 and 8.
