Bhubaneswar: Bringing more laurel to the state, Indian Revenue Services (Customs) officer from Odisha Debi Prasad Dash has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Enforcement Committee of World Customs Organization (WCO).
A 1985-batch officer, Dash is having working experience in UN Security Council located in New York, Commonwealth Secretariat in London, and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in India.
During his service tenure with Revenue Department in the country, Dash served as the director-general of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), a key office which handles issues like smuggling and black money.
The Odia customs official is also a recipient of WCO Merit Award.
