Odisha: Nilagiri MLA Sukanta Nayak joins BJD

Bhubaneswar: Nilagiri MLA Sukanta Nayak has joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today in the capital city of Odisha. He had quit BJP recently. He had been elected as the MLA of Nilagiri Assembly constituency in Balasore district in the 2019 polls from BJP ticket.

As per reports, Nayak joined BJD on Sunday along with his supporters at an event organized at the Sankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar. Many grassroots level BJP leaders have also joined BJD along with him.

Sukant Nayak left the government job in 2014 and started his political career from BJD. He contested for Nilagiri Assembly seat from BJD ticket in 2014 and won. Later, he quit BJD and joined BJP.

Sukanta Nayak was fielded by the Bharatiya Janata Party as the MLA candidate for Nilagiri constituency in 2019 and he won the election.

Upon his joining BJD Nayak said that he was inspired by Biju Babu from the beginning. I left the team in 2019 for some reason. There is a serious lack of coordination between the BJP leaders and the workers. BJD has taken over again. He further said that he will work to carry forward the vision of the Chief Minister.
