Balasore: A youth has been mercilessly attacked near Gopalpur police outpost under Khantapada police limits in Balasore district of Odisha where the miscreants have stabbed him and operated the wound.
The injured youth has been identified as Prashant, son of Narendra Jena of Arala village.
According to reports, Prashant had been to a shop near Gopalpur bazaar at 7.30 pm in the evening on Monday where he was picked up forcefully by a group of miscreants.
The locals who were present at the spot, immediately informed about the incident to his family following which his family members reported about it to the Gopalpur police outpost.
The cops initiated an investigation based on the filed complaint.
Later, the police rescued Prashant from near a bridge at Hatuani square in Nuapur village in a critical condition. He was rushed to Gopalpur Hospital for immediate medical treatment and later was shifted to District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) in Balasore by 108 ambulance as his health condition deteriorated.
The police team is further investigating into the matter.
