Mercury soars in Odisha, Bhubaneswar records 43.6°C in the afternoon

Bhubaneswar: The temperature in Bhubaneswar was recorded at a sizzling 43.6°C on Thursday making it the hottest city in Odisha said the latest update of the MeT (Meteorological Centre) in Bhubaneswar.

Jharsuguda was the second hottest city in Odisha at 42.6°C and the third hottest in Odisha was Balasore at 42.2°C. Temperature by 2:30 pm today said that Bhubaneswar is the hottest city in Odisha. Have a look at the temperature in other cities.

‘Severe Heatwave’ in Odisha to be experienced till April 21 the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange warning.

According to the the weather department, heat wave to severe heatwave condition is very likely to prevail in different districts of the state till April 21.

While, issuing the severe heatwave warning, the IMD also informed about its possible impact and suggested some actions to stay safe from being affected by the severe heatwave.

The heatwave will be experienced by the state of Odisha till April 21 said reports Yellow alert has been issued till April for severe heatwave.

Impact of ‘Severe Heatwave’:

  • Heat is tolerable for general public but slight health concern for vulnerable people (viz: infant, older people, pregnant women and sick people).
  • It is advised to take precautionary measures for hot weather while going outside during peak hours of the day (around 1100 IST-1500 IST).
  • Heat cramp, heat rash likely during peak hours of the day between 11 AM and 3 PM.
