Cuttack: In a shocking incident, miscreants have stolen gold and silver ornaments from a Durga mandap in a loot in Cuttack, said reports on Monday. Even the Goddess was not spared.

According to reports, the massive theft took place from Darkhapatna Durga Mandap in Cuttack. Late last night, thieves broke the lock and looted money and gold ornaments from the temple.

The silver crown, Mangalsutra, eyes, gold crown worn by the Goddess and the money in the donation box were stolen in the loot in Cuttack, said reports.

This morning reports said that, when the priest came to open the temple he found the lock broken. After informing the police, the police reached the spot and are investigating.

After checking the CCTV footage, two suspects were seen going into the Durga mandap in the middle of the night. The police has launched a manhunt in this regard.
