JSPL sets up healthcare centre at Jamunda Jungle village

JSPL establishes Healthcare Centre at Jamunda Jungle VillageAngul: JSPL Foundation, the CSR Arm of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL), established a Healthcare Centre at Jamunda Jungle village of Banarpal Block in Angul district on Wednesday.

Dr. Basanta Kumar Panda, Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) inaugurated the new facility, which has been set up in association with Hewlett Packard (HP).

According to sources, the villagers can avail health services along with free doctor Consultation at the hospital.

The healthcare centre will provide basic health care services and refer the patient to the DHH, Angul for further care, in serious cases.

Services like General Health Check-Up, Vision Correction and Diabetic Check-up will be provided at the health centre. In the near future, this facility will be upgraded to provide specialist consultation through tele and video conferencing with Fortis Hospital, Raigarh and other major Hospitals in Odisha.

Appreciating the initiative, Panda said, “District Health Administration welcomes the community oriented initiative by JSPL”. The District Hospital will extend all support to make the health centre effective in providing basic services to the villagers, he assured.

“JSPL has taken up several community based initiatives under its CSR programme to improve the quality of lives of people residing in the vicinity of its plant at Angul. This health centre will be supplementing the efforts by the Government to provide better healthcare services to the villagers,” said DK Saraogi, Executive Director (In-Charge) and Location of Head of JSPL, Angul while congratulating the CSR team.

Alok Malhotra, Head (HR&ES), Dr. B.K. Dash, Chief Medical Officer, Puspalata Satapathy, Head (CSR), Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Dwivedi, AGM, and other senior functionaries of JSPL were present on the occasion, which was attended by village representatives from various peripheral villages.
