Berhampur: An IPL (Indian Premier League) betting racket was busted by the Police near Subarneswar temple in Aska of Odisha’s Ganjam district last night.
Acting on a tip-off about the betting racket, Aska Police conducted a raid near the Subarneswar temple and arrested four persons for their involvement in the betting racket.
The gamblers were engaged in the betting racket while the IPL 2022 final match was being played between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT).
Apart from arresting the four gamblers, cops also seized Rs 7.60 lakh cash and 6 mobile phones from their possession.
Police are in search of the six other gamblers who managed to flee from the spot when the raid was conducted.
Further investigation is underway.
