Infant stuck in borewell in Odisha’s Sambalpur rescued, health condition stable

In the latest update, the new born baby who was rescued from borewell in Odisha's Sambalpur, is reportedly in stable health condition.

Sambalpur: In the latest update, the new born baby who was rescued from borewell in Odisha’s Sambalpur distict, is reportedly in stable health condition. Currently under treatment, she is being treated by a 10-member medical team.

The infant has been admitted at the SNCU (Special Newborn Care Unit) in VIMSAR, Burla.

In a tragic incident that took place on December 12, an infant fell into a borewell in Sambalpur district of Odisha. The incident took place near Laripali village under the the limits of Rengali Police station. Earlier reports claimed that the infant had purposely been thrown into the well since the well was located inside a nearby forest.

Upon hearing the cries of the infant, few locals had rushed to the spot and immediately alerts police officials and fire department. After a tough eight hour rescue operation, the baby was successfully rescued. Following which, she was shifted to VIMSAR, Burla in green corridor for immediate treatment.
