Dhenkanal: Huge elephant herd spotted on the National Highway in Odisha. A 50 elephants herd was spotted this morning near Haldi Bahal in Gadashila section under Dhenkanal district headquarters range.
The elephants crossed the National Highway 55 and went to the Mathargadi forest. As they were crossing the road, traffic on the National Highway was temporarily suspended.
There was light traffic at this time of night for almost half an hour. Most of the time, the elephants cross the Brahmani River from the Parajang Mahabirod Range area in search of food and head towards the Mathgarh Reserve Forest.
Forest officials are monitoring the movements of the elephant.
