GRS stabbed in broad daylight in Ganjam of Odisha, dies

Ganjam: In a shocking incident, a GRS (Odisha Gram Rozgar Sevak) was stabbed to death, said reliable reports in this regard on Friday.
According to reports, the incident took place in Ganjam District under Bugda police station near Antarpada road. The deceased GRS has been identified as Sukanta Panigarahi and is a resident of Kalam village.
Sukanta was working as a GRS in A. Kardavadi and Shankuru panchayats of Bugda block. After the stabbing, Sukant was first admitted to Bugda Health Centre. But as his condition became critical, he was being shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
But on the way, Sukanta’s condition became critical and he was admitted to Polsara Medical on the way. There the doctor declared him dead. The police have reached the spot and are continuing the investigation. Who and why such a deadly attack was made on the GRS still remains unclear. The stabbing is believed to be based on previous enmity.
