‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ held in GIFT

Bhubaneswar: Gandhi Institute For Technology (GIFT), Bhubaneswar organized the student exchange program as a part of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” an initiative by the Government of India. As per this unique idea of sustained and structured cultural connect, GIFT has been mapped with St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology, Nagpur by AICTE, New Delhi. As a part of this program 29 students along with two teachers paid a visit to the institution.

The inaugural ceremony was conducted in the presence of Dr. Surekha Sundari Swain, State Nodal Officer for Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, Odisha. Dr. Pravat Kumar Subudhi, Principal, Mr. Vivek Sharma, Registrar and Mr. Amitav Saran, SPOC of the program Gandhi Institute For Technology were also a part of this inaugural ceremony.

As a part of this five day exchange programme, the students visited different historical places, Puri Jagannath Temple, Konark, the local market and nearby villages. Each day there was a presentation about Odisha in context to its different sectors like culture, tradition, history, etc. On the last day of the visit the students prepared reports about their whole visit to Odisha.

The valedictory ceremony was conducted in presence of Guests of honor Suresh Chandra Mantry, retd IAS, Sarita Patel, NSS Regional Director and Samir Ranjan Panda, CEO SKILLS, DDU-GKY. Principal, Dr. P.K. Subudhi, Registrar Vivek Sharma, SPOC of the program Mr. Amitav Saran along and Professor of St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology Mr. Manish Gudadhe, were also a part of this Valedictory program.

The event has been lauded as a unique initiative by the Government of India and AICTE, in making the students aware about each other’s culture and traditions.
