Dengue spreads in Khurdha district; 316 tested positive today

The outbreak of dengue is witnessing a rapid expansion in Khurdha district, with a surge in dengue testing at the Capital Hospital.

Bhubaneswar: The outbreak of dengue is witnessing a rapid expansion in Khurdha district, with a surge in dengue testing at the Capital Hospital. Approximately 18,100 dengue tests were conducted in the state, with 553 individuals testing positive for the disease on Monday.

Among those affected, 316 cases were reported from Khurdha district alone. Compared to the previous year, the ongoing monsoon season has seen a concerning increase in the number of positive dengue cases in the state.

As a proactive measure, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has formed a dedicated team to address the situation and raise awareness about dengue prevention. The team aims to educate citizens on identifying early symptoms and promptly seeking medical attention if they suspect dengue infection.

BMC has stressed that it is crucial for citizens, especially the older people, to remain vigilant and report any potential symptoms of dengue to the hospital immediately.

Earlier, Bhubaneswar reported this year’s first Dengue death as a minor girl from Dharma Vihar under Ward No-63 of the city. It is claimed that the cases of dengue following the onset of the monsoon is no the rise in different areas of BMC like Old Town, Nayapalli, Khandagiri and Dharma Vihar.
