Death due to electrocution in Gop of Odisha, locals stage road blockade
Gop: A death due to electrocution in Gop block of Puri district in Odisha has been reportedby reliable sources on Tuesday. The incident has been reported from near Chandrabhaga Helipad Road.
Reports say that, a 33 KV power line was hanging on the road. It had snapped from a pole due to a collision with an unknown vehicle. According to the available information, while going to Chandrabhaga, a biker died after coming in contact with the electric wire hanging on the road. He died on the spot as his neck was cut and he was electrocuted.
The deceased has been identified as Bhaskar Behera of Karamanga sahi under Gop police station limits in Puri district.
On the other hand, hundreds of people from different areas including Chandrabhaga blocked the road after the accident. The Puri-Konark National Highway has been blocked and the dead body was kept on the road.
Reports further added that, the vehicles of hundreds of tourists coming to Puri Konark Chandrabhaga are now stuck on the road. Konark Ramchandi Police and Chandrabhaga Police have reached the spot and are trying to reason it out with the people. They are trying to placate the mob at the earliest.
