Baripada: In a shocking incident, a fire broke out at a car near Sanakeraka village on Udala-Baripada road under Barsahi police limits in the district today.
While the car was completely damaged in the fire, four persons along with the driver of the vehicle escaped unhurt.
Though the exact reason behind the inferno is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the fire was caused by an electric short-circuit.
The incident had resulted in a traffic problem on the route as drivers of several vehicles, due to fear of the fire, stopped their vehicles on the road. However, on being informed, firefighters and the local police reached the spot and doused the flame. Besides, they cleared the traffic.
