Bhubaneswar: Tightening the noose around the necks of illegal drug traders in the capital city, the Excise officials today seized brown sugar worth lakhs by conducting raids at to slums this morning and arrested at least three persons.
As per the report, the raid was conducted by a team of Bhubaneswar Excise unit in Haladipadia and Chintamaniswar slums under Laxmisagar police limits in the city following tip-off. During the raid the officials seized brown sugar weighing 300 gram which was being sold to customers and took three peddlers including two women from the spot.
The seized brown sugar would cost around Rs 30 lakh, informed Excise officials.
Further investigation is underway in the case and the held peddlers will be forwarded to court today.
