Bhubaneswar: Khandagiri, Udaygiri, Rajarani temple to remain closed for public on these days

Bhubaneswar: The Khandagiri and Udaygiri caves and Rajarani temple in Bhubaneswar shall remain closed for public on January 1st and 2nd, 2022 in the wake of rise in Omicron cases, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation said in a notice on Friday.

In view of restrictions imposed by the Government with a view to protect the health of public and preventing spread of the Covid 19 Virus including the newly detected highly contagious Omicron variant due to congregation of large number of citizens, it has been decided that the Khandagiri cave and Udaygiri cave as well as the Rajarani temple will remain closed for public on 1st and 2nd of January, 2022, reads the BMC order.

Any person violating this order will be liable to be proceeded against as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and Covid 19 Regulations 2020, besides legal action under Section 188 of the IPC, and other legal provisions as applicable, also said the order issued by the Deputy Commissioner (Covid) of the  Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation.
