Bank robbery attempt in Ganjam fails as siren goes off unexpectedly
The incident took place at a Gramya bank in Ganjam district. The miscreants damaged the entrance gate and also broke the CCTV camera.
Ganjam: In a failed robbery attempt, two miscreants broke into Odisha Gramya bank near Jarad village under the jurisdiction of Kabisuryanagar police station.
The incident occurred in the late hours of last night when the robbers forcibly entered the bank premises. They damaged the entrance gate and also disabled the CCTV system.
Their plan was abruptly halted as the bank’s siren, reportedly went off. The residents nearby were therefore alerted. Startled by the sudden siren, the robbers fled the scene, leaving all their loot behind.
The locals informed the bank manager and the Kabisuryanagar police about the incident. The identity of the miscreants still remains unknown. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
