Asst. technology Manager arrested in bribery case in Odisha’s Kendrapara district

The Assistant Technology Manager of Garadapur Block Agriculture Office of Odisha’s Kendrapara district was arrested in bribery case.

Kendrapara: The Assistant Technology Manager of Garadapur Block Agriculture Office of Odisha’s Kendrapara district was arrested by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe. The accused manager has been identified as Rajesh Kumar Senapati.

According to sources, Rajesh Kumar Senapati was caught red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 2000 from a Complainant (Supplier) to handover the receipt challan of Paddy threshing machines and to process the bill for payment.

The complaniant, an MBA graduate, and a budding entrepreneur, had supplied the said machines as per the government order received online. However, accused Senapati was harassing him, demanding bribe to process his bill for payment.  Senapati was allegedly harassing other suppliers, too, and collecting bribes for facilitating the release of bills.

Finding no other way, the supplier contacted Odisha Vigilance over TOLLFREE NO-1064 and narrated about the harassment and illegal demand. Based on the complaint, Senapati was nabbed on Saturday by the Vigilance team while receiving the demanded bribe from the complainant.

The entire bribe money has been recovered from accused Senapati and seized. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Senapati from DA angle.

In this connection, a case been registered in Cuttack Vigilance Police Station. Investigation is in progress against accused Rajesh Senapati. Further detailed reports are awaited.
