2 dead, 11 critical in road accident in Odisha
In a fatal road accident in Dharamgarh sub-division in Kalahandi district of Odisha on Wednesday two people have died, 11 are critical.
Dharamgarh: In a fatal road accident in Dharamgarh sub-division in Kalahandi district of Odisha on Wednesday two people have died and as many as 11 are critical.
According to reports, the accident took place in the Dhulu Ghati under Jayapatna police station limits. Sources say, a pick-up van lost control and fell down from the ghat.
Two people including the driver of the vehicle died on the spot. Reports say that, there were many women among those who are critical.
The accident occurred when the pick-up van was on its way to the weekly market (haat) from Nabarangpur district.
The rescue operation by the fire department personnel with the help of the locals is underway at the site of the accident. The police has reached the spot and is investigating into the matter. Further detailed reports awaited awaited in this matter.
It is worth mentioning that early this morning in another accident in Keonjhar district of Odisha five have been killed and as many as nine are critical. The accident took place as a truck ran over a group of Baratis while dancing on the streets during a procession.
