The loco pilot and the guard were suspended following the incident.

The incident took place on March 17 due to cattle run over between Khatima-Tanakpur section. Train stopped just short of Khatima yard. The train was stopped due to an accident but suddenly it started running towards Pilibhit due to slope.

The train’s brakes failed due to leakage in the pressure pipe which left the pilots helpless to stop it and sparked panic among the passengers.
