Supreme Court Extends Limitation Period To File Cases Due To Covid-19 Surge

New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India has extended the limitation period for filing cases under all general and special laws across the country until further orders due to the current situation of coronavirus pandemic.

The order was passed by a three-judge bench, headed by the Chief Justice of India NV Ramana, also comprising Justices A S Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian.

The bench extended all periods of limitation ending on March 14 until further orders.

The bench passed the order in the application filed by Supreme Court Advocates On Record Association (SCAORA). A formal order in this regard will be issued soon.
