Shocking! Bengaluru father sets son on fire over financial dispute

In a shocking incident, a father sets his own son on fire after argument over financial dispute in Valmiki Nagar area of Bengaluru. Later, the young man died in the hospital due to burn injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Arpit. The incident took place on April 1 and the entire video has been captured on CCTV.

The footage is now circulating on Twitter, which shows the victim Arpit coming out of a building along with his father. It is seen that the young man is pleading his father, who is not interested to listen and scolding the victim.

The 25-year old tried to stop his father, who lights a matchstick and throws at him. After one unsuccessful attempt, the second matchstick set him on fire. Moments after this, the victim is seen running from the scene with his clothes on fire.

Later, the locals rushed to douse the fire and took Arpit to Victoria Hospital. He suffered 60 per cent burn injuries and kept fighting for his life for two days. Then, Arpit succumbed during treatment on Thursday morning.

Later, the father was arrested by the police after a complaint lodged by a neighbour. The police informed that he appeared to have been drenched in some liquid, which was paint thinner (a spirit-based solvent).

Surendra runs a fabrication business in Bengaluru. According to reports, the argument began after Arpit failed to give details of Rs 1.5 crore when the father asked him for account details.
