Several feared trapped as coal mine collapsed in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad
Patna: Several people are feared trapped as an abandoned coal mine collapsed near the temporarily closed mining lease area of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad on Thursday.
According to ANI, the mishap occurred when a 60-feet ‘kachcha’ road collapsed at around 8.30 AM in Dhanbad near the temporarily closed mining lease area of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL).
However, Deputy Commissioner Dhanbad, Jharkhand, while speaking to the news agency said that no trapping or any death/injury has been found till now or appears likely.

It is to be noted here that in February this year, at least 5 people were killed when a similar incident took place wherein an illegal coal mine collapsed at ECL Mugma area of Nirsa block of Dhanbad.
