Schools, educational institutions to reopen in Kashmir valley from August 19
Srinagar: All schools and educational institutions in Kashmir valley will reopen from August 19, said Jammu and Kashmir chief secretary BVR Subramaniyam on Friday.
“Schools will be opened after the weekend area by area. Movement of public transport to be made operational. Government offices are functional from today. Telecom connectivity will be gradually eased and restored in a phased manner,” Subramaniyam was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Official Sources said, all Indian Army, Air Force and security forces’ bases in Jammu and Kashmir have been asked to be on high alert against possible attempt by Pakistan-backed terrorist groups to carry out attacks in view of Pakistani efforts to create disturbances in the Kashmir valley.
On Thursday, the Independence Day celebrations were held peacefully in the valley. The first night flight from Srinagar to Delhi took off on Thursday.
Section 144 was imposed in the valley in view of the annulment of Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir as well as bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two UTs- Jammu and Kashmir with legislative assembly and Ladakh without it.
