RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav convicted for 5 years: Fifth fodder scam case

Ranchi: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav was convicted in the Doranda treasury scam by a special Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) court in Ranchi last week.

Today, yet again he RJD chief was sentenced to 5 years’ imprisonment and the court imposed a fine of Rs 60 Lakh on him.

The case pertains to the illegal withdrawal of Rs 139.5 crore from the Doranda treasury.

RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday was convicted in the Doranda treasury scam, the fifth fodder scam case, by a special Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) court in Ranchi.

The CBI special judge SK Shashi also acquitted 24 accused, including 6 women for insufficient evidence.

The court had reserved its verdict in the case on January 29.

This was the final case against Lalu, who has previously been convicted in four cases in connection with the fodder scam.
