PMO holds high-level review meeting to discuss relief measures for Tamil Nadu floods

In recent news, the office of the Prime Minister held a high-level meeting to assess the situation of flood in Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu: In recent news, the office of the Prime Minister held a high-level meeting to assess the situation of flood in Tamil Nadu. The meeting was held today on Sunday. 

Reports from official sources reported that the concerned authorities had an elaborate discussion with officials from the Tamil Nadu government to necessitate measures in the state. 

The discussion in the meeting also witnessed a discussion on the deployment of an NDRF team. Measures like taking help from armed forces and helicopters in case of emergency were also discussed. 

The officials also considered sending a team of different ministerial representatives to evaluate the extent of destruction caused in Tamil Nadu due to the heavy rainfall. Heavy rainfall in multiple areas across Tamil Nadu has triggered flood-like situations in the state. 

Reportedly, Toothukudi is the worst affected district in Tamil Nadu due to the flood. Communication has also been severely affected in numerous areas of Tamil Nadu due to the heavy rainfall.
