MP Gautam Gambhir vows to revive cremation grounds of East Delhi

New Delhi: Gautam Gambhir, newly elected MP of East Delhi, seems to have opened his second innings on a high. He vowed to improve the state of all major cremation grounds of his parliamentary constituency.

The work has already begun from the largest cremation ground, which is located in Geeta Colony.

Sources believe that the former cricketer took several trips to recognize problem areas in his parliamentary constituency. He took the initiative to improve the arrangements of this crematorium jetty. MP Gautam Gambhir is also trying to promote greenery with the help of some environmentalists.

Apart from this, the main focus will be to repair the sanitation system in the cremation ground, to build new sheds to, to improve water connectivity, to create new platforms, etc.

Taking to Twitter, he said “Politics for me is a way to help the people of my city. My efforts will be to ensure that every penny I make as an MP will be used to better the lives of my constituents. That’s why; I commit my salary to upgrade the cremation grounds with better facilities in East Delhi.”

Newly elected Gautam Gambhir is also known for his fearless batting. He represented India from 2003-2018. Gambhir played a total of 242 international matches and scored 10,324 runs in all. In 2019, he joined Bharatiya Janata Party and won election to the Lok Sabha from East Delhi.
