Sehore (MP)(ANI): The attempt to rescue the child who fell into a 300 feet deep borewell in Madhya Pradesh’s Sehore district is still underway.

The attempt to save the girl with the help of a hook has failed and the two-and-half-year-old has not been rescued yet.

The minor has been identified as Shristi Kushwaha and she fell in the borewell while playing in the field at around 2 pm on June 6, 2023. The incident occurred in Mungavali village under Mandi police station limits in the district.

As soon as the district administration received the information about the incident, they reached a team at the spot and started the rescue operation.

The team of the State Disaster Response Force and National Disaster Response Force began the rescue operation on June 7, 2023. Along with this, the army also joined the rescue operation after the Chief Minister called them.

Earlier, in March this year, a 7-year-old boy fell into a borewell in Vidisha district and was rescued after 24 hours operation jointly by Indian Army and SDRF team, however, by the time the boy was rescued, he had died.

Following which, the state government had ordered the officials to check all the borewells and ensure that all of them are covered. However, no heed was paid to the instruction. In the last one and a half years, nearly half a dozen such incidents were reported in different parts of Madhya Pradesh.
