Though the people above 18 years who signed up on the first day of third phase vaccination are not likely to get Covid vaccines, as appointments for age 18 to 44 shall be available when State Governments and Private Vaccination Centers schedule their respective sessions.
However after the registration process, scheduling a date to get the Covid-19 vaccine shot is mandatory for them as walk-ins are not allowed.
Many people complained on various social media platforms about the technical problems each person faced while trying to register for inoculation drive that is scheduled to begin from May 1. On the other hand, many people could smoothly register themselves on the CoWIN portal.
Reportedly, more than 80 lakh people registered themselves on the portal within three hours from 4 pm to 7pm.
“The Centre has failed to supply adequate dosages of vaccines. At present, we have a stock of 1.23 lakh doses of Covishield and 3.56 lakh doses of Covaxin. Due to the unavailability, the phase III vaccination drive is likely to be delayed,”said the Odisha Public Health Director Bijay Panigrahi.
