India Records 12,689 New Corona Cases, Tally Rises To 1.06 Crore

New-Delhi: India recorded 12,689 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, taking the active cases to 1,76,498 and total tally to 1,06,89,527, Health Ministry data said.

Moreover, with 137 deaths related to the novel coronavirus infection, total fatalities in the country surged to 1,53,724.

As on Tuesday morning, India has 1,76,498 active cases and 1,03,59,305 people have been recovered and discharged so far.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 19,36,13,120 samples have been tested so far in the country, including 5,50,426 on Tuesday.

As on January 26, a total of 20,29,480 people have been vaccinated so far, the health ministry said. India had kicked off the world’s largest vaccination drive on January 16.
