New-Delhi: India registered its biggest-ever single day spike with 2,00,739 fresh cases on Thursday. With this, India’s Covid tally has shot up to 1,40,74,564 cases, according to MoHFW.
India also witnessed 1,038 fatalities due to Covid-19 in a single day. The death toll from the deadly infection stands at 1,73,123.
Registering a steady increase for the 36th day in a row, the active cases increased to 14,71,877. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 1,24,29,564.
According to Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 26,20,03,415 samples tested for COVID-19 up to 14th April 2021, including 13,84,549 samples that were tested yesterday.
