IAF Plane crashes in UP, Pilots safe

Lucknow: A two-seater Indian Air Force (IAF) plane crashed in a field near Ranchad village of Bagpat district in Uttar Pradesh on Friday.

However, the two pilots of the micro light aircraft are reported to be safe.

The ML-130 micro light plane had taken off from the Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad and was reportedly participating in a drill for Air Force Day. The mishap took place at around 10 AM, sources said.

The IAF officials and district collector reached the spot and took stock of the incident.

The accident occurred a month after an IAF plane had crashed near Jodhpur in Rajasthan on September 4.
