Himachal Pradesh becomes first-ever fully COVID-19 vaccinated state

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh has become the first ever state to fully vaccinate its adult population against the deadly virus Covid-19.

Official sources said, Himachal Pradesh was the first state to acheive 100 percent first dose vaccination by the end of August. As many as 53,86,393 eligible adults have been administered the second dose.

The state government said 3,18,150 vaccines have been administered n Bilaspur district,3,52,605 in Chamba,3,61,954 in Hamirpur, 7,38,818 in Mandi, 6,34,019 in Shimla district.

The state government has administered first and second doses of the Covid-19 vaccine and has set target of estimated 53,77,820 eligible adults

A special function is being organized to honor COVID-19 workers at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bilaspur on Sunday, official spokesperson said.  BJP National President JP Nadda and Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will attend the function, during which COVID-19 workers will be given certificates recognizing their significant role in vaccinating the citizens, he said.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, Union Minister Anurag Thakur, and the state’s Health Minister Rajiv Saizal will also participate in the function, he added.
