Gujarat: In a fraudulent incident, a customer from Gujarat placed an order for 107 iPhones worth Rs 64 lakh from a store in Abids Jagdish market in Hyderabad and fled without making payment.

According to police, the incident took place in the first week of December. The store believed the order to be genuine and dispatched the consignment of 107 iPhones to Gujarat. When it was delivered, the man fled from the spot without making any payment.

The store owner reported the incident to the nearest police station. Then the Abid’s police formed a team and started an investigation into the matter.

On enquiry, they identified the fraud as Nirav Raj and recovered around 102 new iPhones from him and the remaining five phones were found to be used by the scammers for their personal use, informed the DCP Pawar.

Meanwhile, they took Nirav into custody for further questioning. Later, they got an information about Vipul, the prime accused in the incident, who has been absconding.
