Thoothukudi: The flood situation in Tamil Nadu is becoming worse with each passing day, said reliable reports on Wednesday. Reports say that more than 500 people have been stranded on trains due to water logging.

According to reliable reports, efforts are on by the defense forces to rescue these passengers stuck in the flood in Tamil Nadu.

The first Indian Coast Guard ALH helicopter took off from Madurai early morning with 350 kgs of material to be airdropped in rain-affected areas of Thoothukudi, said reliable reports on ANI.

The second helicopter was also loaded with 350 kgs of relief materials and shall reach the flood affected areas shortly. Reports say that as many as 10 people have been killed due to the floods and historic rainfall. More than 20,000 people have been marooned.

The rescue operations are underway. Detailed reports awaited in this regard.
