Elderly couple rescues 2-year-old granddaughter from jaws of Leopard

Bhopal: In a courageous effort an elderly couple saved their two year old granddaughter from the jaws of a leopard recently. The child was surely saved by the bravery of its grandparents. The incident took place in a village close to Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday night.

According to reports, Jai Singh Gurjar (55) and his wife Basanti Bai (50) were sleeping in the backyard of their house along with their 2 year old granddaughter. In the midnight Basanti woke up after hearing to the screaming of the infant and dumbfounded to see that the leopard was dragging their granddaughter by her right foot.

Losing no time she started kicking the big cat on its face and screamed for help. Hearing to her scream, Jai Singh awoke and joined her wife in kicking the leopard. Finally, the leopard left the infant and attacked the couple. However, in the meanwhile their neighbours arrived at the spot with sticks in their hands and the leopard fled to the forest. And in this fight the two also sustained critical injury. However, the couple and the infant are out of danger now.

After this shocking incident, the forest authorities have beefed up the security in the village.
