Dutch tourist molested, stabbed by resort staff at Goa, arrested
A 29-year-old Dutch woman was allegedly molested and stabbed by a resort staffer in Goa hours after she arrived for a yoga retreat in the state. The incident occurred in north Goa’s Pernem town in the late hours of Tuesday night.

The accused has been identified as Abhishek Verma from Uttarakhand, who was working at the resort for around two years, and the injured person as Eurico.
In her complaint, the Dutch tourist said an unknown man trespassed into her rented tent on hotel premises. Tried to hold her down and threatened her when she started streaming. After hearing her scream, a local man came to her aid, and the attacker fled. After that, he came back with a knife, attacked her and the local man, and then he ran away.
However, the attacker managed to injure both the woman and the local man.
According to the Superintendent of Police, Nidhin Valsan, an FIR has been registered against the accused under sections 307, 354, 452, and 506(II) of the Indian Penal Code, and both the complainant and the local person were shifted to the hospital for treatment.
During the investigation, Goa police identified the accused and he was arrested. Further probe is on.
