Centre issues advisory to States after upsurge of Covid-19 cases

As per the advisory the States will report and monitor district-wise SARI and ILI cases on a regular basis.

New Delhi: The Central Government on Monday issued advisory to the States in view of a recent upsurge in Covid-19 cases and following the detection of the first case of the JN.1 variant (of Covid) in the country.

As per reports, Centre has issued the said advisory following Covid surge and urged the States to maintain a state of constant vigil over the Covid situation.

As per the advisory the States will report and monitor district-wise severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) and influenza-like illness (ILI) cases on a regular basis.

Also, the States have been advised to ensure adequate testing including higher number of RT-PCR tests; and send positive samples for genome sequencing to INSACOG laboratories.
