Bihar Spurious Liquor: 3 dead, 7 hospitalised in Siwan district

Siwan (Bihar): In a tragic incident, three people died and seven hospitalised after drinking spurious liqour in Lakari Nabiganj of Siwan district, informed District Magistrate Amit Kumar Pandey.

“A total of 3 people have died after allegedly drinking spurious liquor in Siwan’s Lakari Nabiganj. Seven people are undergoing treatment. The cause of death will be known only after an autopsy. 10 people have also been arrested in this regard, informed Siwan District Magistrate Amit Kumar Pandey.”

As per information, the people complained of stomach pain in the night and reduced vision. The relatives took them to the hospital where the doctors declared them brought dead.

Last month in December 2022, as many as 70 people died after consuming illicit liquor in Bihar’s Chhapra district.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested a liquor smuggler in connection with the case and also recovered Rs 2.17 lakh in cash.

The sale and consumption of alcohol has been banned in Bihar since April 2016.
