Auto rickshaw driver rapes 20-year-old passenger, arrested in UP
A case was registered against the accused, Indrajeet Singh, under sections 506 and 376 under the IPC. He is to appear in court today.
Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a 24-year-old auto rickshaw driver has been arrested for allegedly raping and threatening a 20-year-old woman in moving rickshaw.
Reportedly, the auto driver raped the woman near the Aarey colony area of Goregaon, Mumbai. The driver, identified as Indrajeet Singh, was arrested in Uttar Pradesh.
As per the complaint lodged by the victim, the assault took place while she was travelling in Singh’s rickshaw. The Mumbai police registered a case against Indrajeet, under sections 376 (Rape) and 506 (Criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Singh is to appear in court today for the hearing of his case.
