Asia Cup 2018: India restricts Pakistan to 237/7 (50 Overs)

Dubai: A disciplined and attacking bowling performance by Indian bowlers led by Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal restricted Pakistan team to 237/7 in its ‘Super Four’ match of the ongoing match at Dubai International Cricket Stadium here today.

Riding on the magnificent spell of Bumrah (2/29), Yadav (2/41) and Yuzvendra (2/46) India conceded just 26 runs in the final five overs of the match to dominate over Pakistan which won the toss and elected to bat first earlier in the day.

From Pakistan’s side Shoaib Malik was the top scorer for with 78 off 90 balls. At a stage in the game Pakistan looked routed to another below-par total batting first when Malik swung into action and help his team to set a par target of 238 for India to win.

In his 107-run stand with Sarfraz, Malik hit 4 fours and 2 sixes most of which came against Ravindra Jadeja and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Earlier Pakistani batsmen Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman struggled with their timing after coming to bat following the dismissal of Imam-ul-Haq. They finally gave away their wickets to Kuldeep Yadav in the fifteenth over. Later, other Pakistani batsmen opted for a defensive game.

In the Match 3 of the ‘Super Four’ play which started at around 5 AM India retained the same playing eleven while Pakistan made two changes by bringing in Mohammad Amir and Shadab Khan in place of Haris Sohail and Usman Khan.
