4 killed, 13 injured as tourist vehicle overturns in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: At least four people were killed, while 13 were injured after a tourist vehicle overturned and fell into a gorge in Idukki district of Kerala. Reportedly, the tourist vehicle was en route from Tamil Nadu.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday evening when a family tour organised by Tirunalveli Ajanta Pressure Cooker Company for its staff and families were returning to Tamil Nadu after visiting Munnar and Anakulam.

The deceased have been identified as Abhinesh Murthy, Abhinesh’s one-year-old son Tanvik, 71-year-old Theni native Gunasekaran, PK Sethu from Erode, owner of Visakha Metal.

Following the incident, eleven people are receiving treatment at Adimali Taluk Hospital, while two others have been shifted to Theni Medical College.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.

Earlier, seven people lost their lives in a road accident in Bihar. The accident took place on NH 31 in Khagaria district in Bihar during the early hours of Monday, said reliable reports in this regard.

According to reports from reliable sources, the deceased also include three children. Four other people were also reported injured in the accident.

Reportedly, a car carrying passengers was returning from a wedding when it collided with a tractor, causing the accident. The accident prompted immediate rescue and relief operations.

The injured ones in the road accident were rushed to nearby hospitals for immediate medical attention. Further, the identities of the deceased in the accident are yet to be ascertained.
