125 year old Yoga Guru bows to President, PM before receiving Padma Shri: Watch

New Delhi: Yoga Guru 125 year old Swami Sivananda on Monday was bestowed with Padma Shri award in Rashtrapati Bhavan. The revered Guru earned standing ovation as well as applause by the dignitaries and all who were present on this occasion at the Darbar Hall. The President of India Ram Nath Kovind handed over him the award for his contribution in the field of Yoga.

Swami Sivananda walked bare feet in the palatial and bowed to the PM and the President before receiving the award which earned applause from all.

As he prostrated before Prime Minister Narendra Modi the PM was quick to convey the returning the gree and promptly bowed and touched the ground.

The awardee also bowed to the President before receiving Padma Shri and the President was quick to step out to help Sivananda rise to his feet. Then, he handed over the award and the citation to the Swami.

As per reports, Swami Sivananda has dedicated his life to the welfare of human society. He leads a simple, disciplined and well-regulated life with morning yoga and oil free boiled diet that is believed to be the secret behind his fitness even at the age of 125.
