1-year-old raped by minor in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh

Uttar Pradesh: A 12-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly raping a one-year-old girl in Aligarh on Thursday, police said. The boy was sent to a juvenile home in a different district, and the baby was admitted to a hospital for treatment, they added.

“The minor suspect was apprehended on suspicion of rape. Additionally, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been used to arrest him.” The officer in charge of the police station said.

According to the police complaint, the girl’s father claimed that when the elder sister of the victim gave her milk from a bottle, the boy, who was known to the family, came. He told the older girl that he would take the baby with him and return soon.

The police said the boy took the child to a remote location nearby, where he allegedly raped her before returning her to her home. The parents of the victim were away at the time. When they arrived, they noticed that the baby was bleeding.

After that, the older daughter informed their mother that the boy had spent some time with the child outside. After that, the parents went to the police.

According to Superintendent of Police (Aligarh) Kuldeep Singh Gunawat, “The accused admitted to the crime.” He was brought before an Aligarh court, which sent him to a juvenile facility.
