SBI issues alert for fake job offer scams, follow these safety tips

The State Bank of India (SBI) has issued an alert for the people to stay safe and not to fall prey into such frauds.

With the growing demand of job by the unemployed youths, several fake job scams surface every day. In such situation, the State Bank of India (SBI) has issued an alert for the people to stay safe and not to fall prey into such frauds.

The SBI on its Twitter handle alerted people not to make upfront payments and fall into part-time job offer scams. Reputed companies never ask for any payments, it added.

The SBI, a public sector bank and the largest bank in India with a 23% market share by assets and a 25% share of the total loan and deposits market, also shared a video purportedly showing how you can fall prey into such fake job scams.

The bank also issued the following safety tips for the people:

    • Check the authenticity of the sender.
    • Do not make any upfront payments to anyone.
    • Do not trust unverified forwarded messages.
    • Do not participate in forwarding spam messages.
    • Freebies are not really free.
