7th Pay Commission: Here’s A Piece Of Good News For Government Employees; Check Details

The government has given some relief to the Central employees in the Seventh Pay Commission. The central government has said that in the pay level 9 to 11 pay matrix, government employees will no longer need to provide self-certification of details such as travel dates and train number to claim travel allowance. At the same time, it is being said that the government can give good news to government employees in the coming days also on Dearness Allowance (DA).

The Department of Expenditure, which works under the Ministry of Finance, has relaxed the rules for reimbursement claims of central employees for domestic travel. Under this, now central employees will not need to give self-certification for travel allowance claims.

Employees coming in pay level 9 to 11 of the seventh pay commission will get the benefit of this. Now, these employees will not need any receipt or voucher for the reimbursement claim of local travel under the daily allowance.

The government order states that several references were received, in which officials from pay level 9 to 11 for receipts/vouchers are facing difficulties, claiming reimbursement of travel fees for travel within the city. Now employees of these levels have been exempted from giving such details to claim travel allowance.

Earlier, Level 8 and below employees were exempted from submitting vouchers/receipts for traveling inside the city.

DA may increase:

Explain that during the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission, the Travel Allowance Rules had prescribed reimbursement for travel charges within the city. However, now Government employees of level 8 and below can also claim reimbursement of travel fee without self-certification without giving any voucher.

At the same time, there may be more good news in the coming days on the 7th Pay Commission and the government may announce an increase in DA in June 2021. The DA can be increased twice a year with a view to improving the standard of living of government employees.
