Cuttack: The Hanuman Jew temple in Umar Panchayat under Mahanga Block of Cuttack district in Odisha has a few unique features that makes it different from other shrines.

Chudu Muan is offered here to the God which is a rare affair. Besides, the Lord Hanuman idol at this temple has been manifested from under a dhinki.

As per reports, the Lord Hanuman idol at the Hanuman Jew temple in Umar Panchayat has manifested from the ground beneath a dhinki, an old style rice mill or husk lever. This is historically evident, say the locals. That means the idol which is now being worshipped at this temple is not made by any sculptor but it is a natural one. The idol is east facing and he looks up.

Another uniqueness of this temple is its offering that is called Chudu Muan. This is prepared in the Rosha ghara (temple kitchen). The ingredients are flour, Chhena (Indian cottage cheese), coconut and cashew.

In this temple, Chudu Muan offering is made almost every day. However, on Tuesdays and Saturdays which are considered as the days of Lord Hanuman, Chudu Muan is surely offered. On these two days, more number of devotees visit the temple. It is said the devotees who make a wish with the God, offer Chudu Muan.

This temple is famous in the whole of Odisha because it is believed that Lord Hanuman hears call of all devotees and fulfil their wish. Devotees come to this temple from almost all parts of Cuttack district.

The temple witnesses huge crowd of devotees especially on Tuesdays and Saturdays which are considered days of the monkey God.
