Vivek Agnihotri taunts Prabhas for untoward portrayal of ‘Lord Ram’ in Adipurush

The Kashmir Files director, Vivek Agnihotri, shared his opinion on how Adipurush lacked in depth, faith and belief in mythology.

Om Raut’s Adipurush bombed at the box office due to several reasons. Despite having a star-studded cast, the film turned out to be a failure. However, even after over a month of the film’s theatrical release, it continues to make headlines. This comes as a result of the numerous controversies around it.

Recently, Indian director, Vivek Agnihotri, took a jibe at actor Prabhas, for the inappropriate portrayal of Lord Ram in the film. Well-known to all, Agnihotri is never the one to back out when it comes to sharing opinions; especially if the topic is a controversial one.

While the audience criticized the film for its dialogues and CGI, Vivek Agnihotri has targeted Prabhas. The Kashmir Files director shared his opinion on how Adipurush lacked in depth, faith and belief in mythology. He said that to play a character in a mythological film, one has to have faith and belief in real life. Taunting Prabhas, he said, “When you do something just for the sake of it it, without having actual faith, you are definitely going to go wrong.”

He further said that coming onto screen and saying ‘Hey, I’m God’ will not make people believe it. Notably, Vivek Agnihotri did not Prabhas’ name directly, but it is not a difficult guess to make, is it ?

On the work front, Vivek Agnihotri is currently working on multiple projects. One of his recent announcements include a new web series names ‘Kashmir Files Unreported.’ The series will show the story of real life survivors of of the 1990 exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in J&K. Another series in the making is titled as ‘The Vaccine War.’ This will be a story based on the scientists who contributed in developing the vaccine against Covid-19.
