Mumbai: After ‘Mission Mangal’ entering the Rs 100-crore club, Vidya Balan is on cloud nine. From ‘Parineeta’ to ‘The Dirty Picture’ to ‘Tumhari Sulu’, the actress has a powerful body of work that has earned her critical and commercial success.
Vidya was recently promoting her latest release Mission Mangal when the actress was questioned about working with the Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan by a leading entertainment portal. The actress was quick to reply saying that she is keen on doing a mature love story with the charmer and would like to do something like Ijaazat that starred Naseeruddin Shah and Rekha.
Vidya also recounted her first meeting with the superstar which was on the sets of Om Shanti Om as she was doing a cameo in the song ‘Deewangi Deewangi’. She said that she was on cloud nine after meeting him, as he was extremely charming and described it as simply magical.
On the work front, Vidya will next star in a short film about gender equality, titled ‘Natkhat’, which will also mark her first production venture. She will also portray the mathematician Shakuntala Devi in an upcoming biopic and will produce and star as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in a yet-untitled web series based on Sagarika Ghose’s biography Indira – India’s Most Powerful Prime Minister.
